Official opening day! | October 31, 2013 | 12:01 AM

Happy Halloween and welcome to Freaky Gone Fabulous! I hope you will enjoy reading this comic as much as I have enjoyed creating it! :-) You can read the complete first issue of the comic here. For now, my planned update schedule will be one page a week, update on Thursdays—I'll be sure to keep you all posted if anything changes. ;-) Thank you for visiting!

Notes for Issue 1 | October 27, 2013 | 7:12 PM

• Major thanks to sinayastarchild, shadow-people and shaibrooklyn for their Monster High backdrop vectors, which I use in the background of many panels in this issue. ♥ And props to you if you recognize where Dr. Stein's house came from!

• Major, major thanks to my friend Selenia for her Spanish help and my sister Lizzie for her French help in this issue. I'm sorry the panels are so small and you can't really read the text :-( If anyone's curious, you can see the full-sized versions of the panels here and here.

• I know that in the books, Monster High is located in Salem, Oregon,* which is a cute idea, based on the whole Salem, Massachusetts thing... but one thing that bothered me about setting the series in Salem is that, while there are a ton of rivers around here, it's like 35 miles away from the ocean, which is kind of problematic for the saltwater Sea Monsters. So I decided to move the setting to a fictional village nestled beside the awesomely-named Devils Lake, which is an hour west of here, near Lincoln City. Devils Lake is also a convenient location because the lake itself is extremely close to the ocean, as you can see in this photo. This makes it easy for both freshwater monsters like Gil Webber and saltwater monsters like Lagoona Blue and Delphine Kai (whom you will meet shortly -_^) to live in the area and attend Monster High.

* btw, I actually live in Salem, Oregon! Which is cool and also sort of weird when I think about Monster High being set here XD

In order to make FGF a success, there are a number of Monster High dolls, playsets, and accessories that I am seeking. You can assist the project by helping me track down the items I'm missing! There's a complete list here, but the things I need the most right now are:

  • CAM boy upper arms/legs (any color)
  • DotD Deuce's sunglasses
