Episode 19: The Underwater Mines
This is one of the best Aldarn-episodes to date, not only because he gets more undivided screentime than he had before this point, but also because we get to meet Aldarn's father, Akatan, and see where and how Aldarn lives when he's not with Caleb.

In the throneroom of Phobos, Akatan is fitting a crown for Elyon, the Princess of Meridian. Elyon marvels that the tiara is not only beautiful, but also very comfortable. Phobos proclaims that the metalworking master has done a great service to Meridian's princess. When Elyon leaves the room, Phobos informs Akatan that he may return home—after he has repaired all the tools in the Underwater Mines. While working in the mines, Akatan gets caught in a huge gear, from which he is saved by Caleb's father. Akatan recognizes the man and, when he thinks no one is looking, sabotages one of his tools so he can return to his shop and inform Aldarn that Caleb's father, who was thought to have been killed in a batlle a year before, is still alive.

At the metalworking shop, Akatan is greeted warmly by his son, Aldarn, who has been worrying about his whereabouts. Akatan tells Aldarn that Phobos has sent him to work in the Underwater Mines, and, as they work to repair the broken tool, Akatan asks Aldarn to send word to Caleb that his father has been found. Aldarn heads to the marketplace to find Blunk, and gives him the message to relay to Caleb. In the meantime, a passling spy from the Underwater Mines warns Cedric and Phobos that Akatan sabotaged his own tool in order to temporarily return home. Phobos and Cedric suspect that Akatan left to deliver a message to someone concerning the father of the rebel leader. It is now only a matter of time before Aldarn and Akatan are discovered as rebels by Phobos, if they haven't already been.
